DC in AoC!

Hail All,

Age of Conan has now been our for a coupel of weeks and things are running smoothly. We ask that everyone makes sure to do the following things to make life easier for the clan officers:

1) REGISTER and APPLY for a usergroup on the forums

2) Get in VENTRILO

3) Donate money (silver) so more buildings, walls and upgrades can happen to Corriban City.

4) Do not FLAME or get into a FLAME / EXPLOIT debat on the AoC official forums.

5) Pick a profession and LIST IT in the FORUMS so we do not end up with 100 Gencrafters (as an example)

Thanks to all that have contributed so much and have gotten DC stated off in the right direction. /salute

Promotions / Clan Honor Advancement

Hail DC,

With the launch of AoC now and DC officially in the game playing by official and finialized rules, we need to now come together and decide on a more accurate system that will fit the game itself.

1) The Guild UI is horrible and there is ZERO customization at all in it. We will be sticking with the ranks I have already provided on the website, and "pooling" them under the official (5) ranks provided in the game. EXAMPLE: The second rank from the top (DeathBringer) will encompass ALL Dark Council members ranks.....etc

2) As we play, we will find ideas and things that happen and peopel do that need to be rewarded. I have a basic honor system in place, but with the game released, we can FINE TUNE that system and honor descriptions in order to make them fit more into the game. I will have the rest of the honors done soon and have them all up.

These are just a few things to have in the back of your head as we press on and do the ultimate grind to level 80 and then start forming the end game runs for PvE and PvP. ANY IDEAS or SUGGESTIONS, please feel free to post them on the forums, PM me or e-mail them to me. If they suck or don't work, just send in more!

Hail DC,

It is with great pleasure and pride that I announce The Durmanhoth Clan is officially founded in the MMORPG Age of Conan. After a coupel of years of waiting and planning and beta testing, DC has made a new home. Within the first 24hours of the game launching, DC made the clan official and also has picked out a city plot in the Purple Lotus Swamp.

Awesome job to everyone that helped from the first few mins to now. DC would be no where if not for the strong membership it always has. /salute

AoC Storyline Theme

......What is my name? My name has been lost to the ages......
.............Why am I here? Well, as the story is told the future is being written.......

A fiendish ghoul enter my war tent and bids me to meet his master. While I am not new to the cultish and mystic fiends that dabble in the games of mortal men, ths creatures voice called to me. I rode forth into a wilderness as black as any abyss and came across a small stone ruin that looked to once be a place of ritual of some sort. On the Altar stood not a man, but something spawned from hell itself. It beckoned me closer. Its' name was High Priest Xalotun of Py'thon and its' purpose for beckoning me here meant nothing short of disaster for mere mortals.

Xaltotun talked in my mind, like many of the dark priests of 3000 years ago. He wanted me to lead my Durmanhoth Clan into the valley ******* and wait on the other side. He said once the cliffs fell, we were to dispatch any and all who happened to survive. So, we did as we were told.

The mighty Nemedian tribes attacked King Conan’s legions and the battle waged back and forth for quite some time. We were getting very restless for our chance. At first it looked as though the Nemedians were going to lose, and then King Conan (as we thought it was) made a terrible error in leading his troops across the river ******. As the Nemedians broke in a run, they ran into the valley…..our valley! We could see the mighty King riding with 5,000 knights from across Aquilonian and into the valley to hunt down and kill the Nemedians when a thunderous crash shook the very earth. All our blood seemed to turn into an icy chill. The cliffs began to break, boulders fell and rained down upon the brave knights smashing them and creating fountains of blood seemingly bursting from the earth itself. The avalanche cut down almost all of the knights save for maybe a few hundred and the king……now it was our turn!

I rode straight at the King, sitting on his huge horse wearing the blackest of armor and the challenge was on. He reared his horse towards me, drawing his sword in the air and began to scream so loud that you could feel the pain and anguish he felt at the death of so many brothers in arms. As he rode, one of my Heralds shot his magic forth and knocked Conan to the ground. I left from my horse while he was in a daze and squared off against the mighty barbarian. Once his eyes focused, he charged and our swords clashed. Our blades flashed and gleam with battle. Sparks rained down around us. In the end, he was dead, lying in the dirt, sword buried in his chest and ribs so deep it was unretrievable from his lifeless corpse. I looked around to see my knights and mages dealing death blow after death blow. Their black and purple capes and armor stained now by the blood frenzy as they slashed and hacked away at the stunned knights. One by one the enemy fell and at the end they lay dead and the armor of the mighty barbarian King was mine!

At the black war camp of Xaltotun, the fiend told us that the King had not fallen and that this information must be kept in secret. It seems the fiend had another use for the barbarian King and we were just pawns to play in his little game of war. Disgusted by the dishonor of believing the king was slain and realizing I had been fooled by a disguise, I turned to walk out of the tent when Xaltotun threw at me a bag of gold and riches and told me to build the black city of Corriban on this spot. He then vanished and I have not seen him since.

Heading out for different lands, The Durmanhoth Clan vowed that once they found the King, they would kill him. To have believed the king was killed was an honor, but the dishonor in knowing the King lives and that you only killed one of his many servants knows no bounds. With that dishonor in our hearts, The Durmanhoth Clan begins to clean an area and set up a place for us to strike from. Soon, we will strike with great vengeance and King Conan will be dead.

We were once warriors looking for the spoils from another battle. We are now all dark minions in the games the gods play. But for I, shall use this time wisely and big the dark city. For we are:

The Durmanhoth Clan!!!

…..and I am. My name is lost to the ages and I can not remember. I am now Hardware, Overlord of The Durmanhoth Clan. And I will ride forth and bring death and despair.

AoC Gets Delayed (May 20th, 2008)

The highly anticipated MMO gets eight more weeks of polish

Durham, USA – January 21, 2008 – Funcom announces a new release date for Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures. The highly anticipated MMO receives 8 more weeks of development, allowing Funcom to deliver a more polished MMO experience when the game launches on the 20th of May 2008. Despite great feedback on vital aspects like immersion, fun factor and the exciting combat system, the management of Funcom has decided to polish the game even more. Eight weeks of development work is therefore added to stress game systems and polish the game further leading up to launch.

Funcom is fully committed to its communities and the quality-level they demand and deserve, and has previously postponed the Age of Conan launch. The changes implemented as the game was moved to a 2008 release have proven to greatly improve the experience for newcomers, while introducing a more involving and accessible character progression throughout the game. Press and beta feedback in the aftermath of these changes has been very positive. As a result, the ongoing presentations of the game have continued to increase the anticipation for Age of Conan. To date, Age of Conan has received more than 20 magazine covers and 15 industry awards, and is widely considered to be one of the most anticipated MMOs in development.

Funcom has great faith in the Age of Conan game, and feels certain that further polish is in the best interest of the hundreds of thousands of gamers who follow the game. “The companies standing apart in the gaming market today are those with a relentless drive to achieve quality. Even though we regret delaying the launch, I am certain we made the right choice. I hope that our followers and fans will support our decision, and respect our commitment to quality,” said Gaute Godager, Producer and Game Director of Age of Conan.

Funcom will also continue the beta efforts for the title with continued testing on its large server parks in North America and Europe. Players can already sign up at pre-order programs in several countries and enjoy the recently released website at www.ageofconan.com, displaying part of the wealth of marketing and game material already prepared for the game. A special Collectors Edition of the retail box is available for pre-order at select retailers. Thousands of players have been invited to the beta of the game, and the number will continue to go up as Age of Conan moves towards launch. If you too want to join the Beta of Age of Conan you may sign up for the Beta on www.ageofconan.com

Site Improvements and Updates!

Hail DC!

A few things to note as we draw closer to the release date of AoC in March.

1) We have a NEW application process. The link provided here: http://www.durmanhoth-clan.com/DC/modules.php?name=PNForms is the new forum that will allow anyone in any game to apply here. Each forum then goes into a recruitment thread on the forums and the officers and recruiters can discuss the people and accept or deny them.

2) The clan intro is being worked on as we speak. We will have a NEXUS intro for the over all look of the clan as well as a intro for each seperate game.

3) The DC splash page that was in development a while back is back underway and should be online very soon.

4) I slacked on the DC Black Market (Mall) because of a lot going on in RL, however in the next week or so you should start to see the clothing promised as well as the little trinkets and stuff you will be able to order.

5) The new clan roster is uploaded on the nexus site and the ranks and badges are being added as we speak again. Just waiting on Dirtysob to send the rest of the badges and I will post them all.

These are just a FEW of the changes I am getting done for the clan now as we press on to our future. I appreciate those in beta learning the game and getting ready to give us the good start we need and I REALLY appreciate those that have helped me out with the graphics and changes with the site. /salute to the best brotherhood around.
